John T. Chapman- Senior Advisor


Mr. Chapman serves as the Senior Advisor to Access411 and has done so since 2005. Mr. Chapman brings over 35 years of education experience along with school safety expertise learned through both his vast education experience and his time served as a Philadelphia Police Officer. Additionally, he acquired vast experience in the field of construction as managing partner of Team/ACE Construction a joint venture in Baltimore. The firm was a leader in the development and construction of low and affordable income housing across the nation.

Mr. Chapman held many leadership and educator positions with the School District of Philadelphia. Mr. Chapman began as a teacher in 1971 and also went on to serve as the Athletic Director. He held the position of Principal at both Overbrook High School and Benjamin Franklin High School and during the school year of 2002/2003 actually served as Principal of both schools simultaneously. From 2003 until his retirement from the School District of Philadelphia in 2005 he held the position of Special Assistant to the Deputy Chief Academic Officer. During that time was responsible for crisis response, development of effective climate plans for high schools and implementation of the automation of attendance recording for all 53 district high schools. One month into retirement, he was asked to return and serve as interim Principal of University City High School, which was declared in crisis at the time and remained in the position for sixteen months.

Mr. Chapman received Dual BS degrees in Education from Cheyney University and holds a Masters of Education degree from Temple University. He currently resides in Philadelphia and enjoys sharing his life with his wife of 25 years and spending time with his two children.



Bonnie S. Erickson- Senior Educational Advisor


Ms. Erickson serves as a Senior Educational Advisor to Access411 and has held this position since 2005. In addition to her work for Access411 Ms. Erickson is a Consultant for the Center for Social Organization of Schools, Johns Hopkins University.

Ms. Erickson is retired from Baltimore City Public Schools where she spent 35 years as a teacher and held various administrator positions. Ms. Erickson served for three years as principal of Patterson High School, the first Talent Development High School. She began her career as a history teacher at Garrison Junior High School. Prior to becoming principal, she was an assistant principal and a social studies supervisor for secondary schools. A strong advocate of student government she organized and was the first advisor for the Association of Student Councils of Baltimore City now called the Associated Student Congress.

Ms. Erickson received a BS in history and a Masters of Secondary Education from Towson State Teachers College known today as Towson University.

Ms. Erickson is a member of a variety of organizations dedicated to human and civil rights, animal welfare and environmental preservation. These include the American Indian Relief Council, Southern Poverty Law Center and The International Fund for Animal Welfare. For pleasure, Ms. Erickson enjoys traveling, reading historical novels and is avid sports fan.



Mildred S. Harris- Senior Educational Advisor


Mildred S. Harris is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She received her early education in the public and parochial schools of Atlanta, a B.S. degree in biology and chemistry from Morris Brown College and a MLA from The Johns Hopkins University. She has done graduate work at Atlanta University, Morgan State University, Coppin State University and the University of Maryland.

Mildred’s professional experience includes a career in the Baltimore City Public School System as a teacher, science department head, assistant principal/building manager and principal of Southwestern High School. She is currently employed by the Johns Hopkins University as an Organizational Facilitator with the Talent Development High Schools Program. She has been a frequent presenter at local, regional and national professional, civic and faith-based conferences and conventions.

Mrs. Harris’ civic and community involvement includes serving as a former Chairperson of the School Mental Health Advisory Board at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and membership in numerous local and national social and civic organizations. She was a 2004 recipient of the Fullwood Foundation Valued Hours of Service Award.
