CEIA Metal Detectors - SMD601

The most advanced Multi-Zone Walk-Through Metal Detector for law enforcement and correction facilities

The CEIA SMD601 is a Multi-Zone Walk-Through Metal Detector specifically designed to comply with the NIJ Standard 0601.02. The standard establishes new requirements of sensitivity, discrimination and immunity for law enforcement and correctional facilities.

This is an extremely sensitive device for the detection of conventional weapons, such as pistols and knives, as well as small, hard-to-find items that could be considered a threat to officer and prisoner safety.

The three levels of security specified by the Standard (large, medium and small object size) are pre-loaded into the SMD601 and can be selected directly by the user via a simple operation at the control unit.

The full-height light bar displays the horizontal location of the detected metal masses in transit. This results in the rapid identification of threats and a reduction, or elimination, of manual searches.

Features of the SMD601:

  • Very high sensitivity to magnetic and non-magnetic metals and stainless steel
  • Quick, accurate analysis of all parts of the body of people in transit
  • Very accurate pinpointing of individual and multiple metal masses
  • Immediate selection (parameter IS) of security levels specified by NIJ Standard 0601.02
  • Chip-Card selection of additional threat levels
  • Detection of magnetic, non-magnetic and mixed alloy metal weapons
  • Photocell transit counter and automatic alarm rate calculation
  • High speed of detection: up to 45 ft (15 meters) per second
  • Extremely high immunity to electrical and mechanical interference
  • Cable-free automatic synchronization between two or more metal detectors, at a minimum distance of 7.8 inches from each other
  • Professional high integration and high reliability electronics
  • Control unit incorporated into the detector
  • No initial or periodic calibration
  • Easy maintenance: modular control unit for rapid replacement
